BA_OK0|Okay, I'll cover you.
BA_OK1|Okay, we might live longer if we work together.
BA_OK2|Let's get the hell out of here.
BA_OK3|Yeah, we might stand a better chance if we team up.
BA_OK4|Okay, why not? Didn't want to die alone anyway.
BA_OK5|Yeah, let's go.
BA_OK6|Roger that. Let's run like hell.
BA_WAIT0|Okay, I'll wait here and help anyone else who comes by.
BA_WAIT1|You go on without me.
BA_WAIT2|Okay, I'll secure this area.
BA_WAIT3|Yeah, I'll wait here.
BA_WAIT4|See you later.
BA_WAIT5|I'll stay here and guard this area.
BA_HELLO0|Hello.
BA_HELLO1|Hey, Mr. Freeman.
BA_HELLO2|Hello, sir.
BA_HELLO5|Hey, Gordon.
BA_HELLO3|Hey, Gordon.
BA_HELLO6|Sir.
BA_HELLO4|Sir.
BA_QUESTION0|You think there's a cold beer for us at the end of all this?
BA_QUESTION1|You think this is the right way out?
BA_QUESTION2|It can't get any worse than this, can it?
BA_QUESTION3|Bet you're glad I got this old sidearm on me, aren't ya?
BA_QUESTION4|Did you have any idea they were working on this kind of stuff?
BA_QUESTION5|You think this is the right way out?
BA_QUESTION6|You have any idea what's going on?
BA_QUESTION7|You aren't scared, are you?
BA_QUESTION8|You don't still think this is a drill, do you?
BA_QUESTION9|Think we're getting any closer?
BA_QUESTION10|Hey, did you hear something?
BA_QUESTION11|Any idea how many of our crew have died?
BA_QUESTION12|Did you see something move?
BA_QUESTION13|Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
BA_QUESTION14|Did you see that thing, with the... the missing leg?
BA_ANSWER0|No way.
BA_ANSWER1|I reckon.
BA_ANSWER2|Sounds right.
BA_ANSWER3|Yes, sir.
BA_ANSWER4|You bet.
BA_ANSWER5|You got it.
BA_ANSWER6|Yup.
BA_ANSWER7|Don't ask me.
BA_ANSWER8|Don't bet on it.
BA_ANSWER9|I don't buy it.
BA_ANSWER10|I don't see it that way.
BA_ANSWER11|I don't think so.
BA_ANSWER12|It's hard to say.
BA_ANSWER13|I just don't know.
BA_ANSWER14|Nope.
BA_ANSWER15|No, sir.
BA_ANSWER16|I can't figure it out.
BA_ANSWER17|Maybe.
BA_ANSWER18|I can't really tell.
BA_ANSWER19|Would you be quiet?
BA_ANSWER20|You talk too much.
BA_ANSWER21|Didn't you already ask me that?
BA_STARE0|Yup.
BA_STARE1|Yes, sir.
BA_STARE2|Hello, sir.
BA_STARE3|Sir.
BA_IDLE0|What the hell is this?
BA_IDLE1|I would really like a cold one right now.
BA_IDLE2|I'd like to get my hands on the guy responsible for this mess.
BA_IDLE3|Now I wonder if those boys could have made a bigger mess.
BA_IDLE4|Our luck has to change sooner or later.
BA_IDLE5|This place is a lot bigger than I thought.
BA_IDLE6|Yep, all that target range time is gonna pay off today.
BA_IDLE7|I have a bad feeling about this.
BA_IDLE8|I smell an ambush. We'd better be careful.
BA_IDLE9|I'll be happy to survive this with all my parts.
BA_IDLE10|I don't know if we should go any further. This doesn't look right.
BA_ATTACK2|Stand back!
BA_ATTACK3|What the hell is this?
BA_ATTACK4|Die, you bloodsucker!
BA_ATTACK5|Aim for the head, if you can find it.
BA_HEAR0|I hear something.
BA_HEAR1|That doesn't sound right.
BA_HEAR2|Man, that sounded bad.
BA_SMELL0|Phew, something died down here!
BA_SMELL1|What is that smell?
BA_SMELL2|Ew, what's that stench?
BA_CUREA|I'll bet that stings a bit.
BA_CUREB|Sir, that injury may need some attention soon.
BA_CUREC|Well, sir, I hate to say it, but you're in bad shape.
BA_SCARED0|Hey, stop that!
BA_SCARED1|Are you crazy? Leave him alone!
BA_WOUND0|Took a little damage, but I can make it.
BA_WOUND1|Well, I got hit pretty hard.
BA_MORTAL0|Sorry, sir, but I can't take much more of this.
BA_SHOT0|Watch it with that thing!
BA_SHOT1|Hey, what did I ever do to you?
BA_SHOT2|Watch it with that thing!
BA_SHOT3|What are you trying to do?
BA_SHOT4|Hmpf, with friends like you...man!
BA_SHOT5|Don't tick me off, Gordon.
BA_MAD0|Hey, step off, buddy!
BA_MAD1|I wish it hadn't come to this.
BA_MAD2|Heh, you're gonna wish you hadn't done that.
BA_MAD3|I only take so much and no more.
BA_MAD4|End of the line for you.
BA_MAD5|Don't make me do this.
BA_MAD6|What do you want on your tombstone?
BA_KILL0|Got one!
BA_KILL1|Ha ha, got another one!
BA_KILL2|That's one less horror in the world.
BA_KILL3|Man, did you see that shot?
BA_KILL4|Whoa, that was close.
BA_KILL5|Heh, that'll look nice in my trophy room.
BA_KILL6|Bring it on!
BA_POK0|Sorry, sir, I've got to stay at my post.
BA_POK1|Sorry, I'm on duty, Mr. Freeman.
BA_POK2|Can we do this later?
BA_POK3|Hey, catch me later, I'll buy you a beer.
BA_STOP0|This is as far as I go.
BA_STOP1|I'm gonna stay here and keep a lookout for anyone that needs help.
BA_LATE|Morning, Mr. Freeman. Looks like you're running late.
BA_HEADDOWN|Hey, you've got the wrong airlock, Mr. Freeman. You know I can't let you through here.
BA_DESK|{0,6}Hey, Mr. Freeman. I had a bunch of messages for you, but we had a system crash about twenty minutes ago${4,8}and I'm still trying to find my files.${6,9}Just one of those days I guess.${8,14}They were having some problems down in the test chamber, too, but I think that's all straightened out.${12,17}They told me to make sure you headed down there as soon as you got into your hazard suit.
BA_BUTTON|Come on, Gordon! You trying to get me into trouble?
BA_HEVNO|Sorry, Mr. Freeman, I got explicit orders not to let you through without your hazard suit on.
BA_HEVYES|Go right on through, sir. Looks like you're in the barrel today.
BA_GLAD|Gordon! Man, am I glad to see you! What the hell are these things? And why are they wearing science team uniforms?
BA_BULLSQUID|Hey, what the hell are you doing down here? Get topside! I hear troops are coming in to save us!
BA_ZOMBIE2|It's okay, sir, I can take him! (Unused)
BA_ZOMBIE4|Argh, oh shit! (Unused)
BA_CLIMB|Elevators are out of order, but we can still climb.
BA_SLEW|Word is, once we get to the surface, the military has made arrangements for us.
BA_SURFACE|Hey, don't count on the cavalry finding us down here. Head for the surface.
BA_TOPSIDE|Maybe help is on its way, but I'm not waiting around for it. We've got to get topside.
BA_WHISPER|Be quiet! This thing hears us!
BA_TENTACLE|Hey, over here! Eat lead, you outer space octopus!
BA_HUB1A|{0,6}Mister, if you can get the power on, that train'll take us straight to the surface.${4,9}I would try it myself, but it's a long way down to the generator room.${8,14}And there are...things in the way.
BA_HUB2A|I'm never gonna make it. You better go on without me.
BA_AGAIN|What I said is, you got to get to the generator. (Unused)
BA_LAUNCH|{0,5}Freeman, I've been waiting for you. One of your scientist pals said to give you a message.${4,10}You're supposed to take this old rail system up to some kind of satellite delivery rocket.${8,15}I don't know where it is exactly, and the old guy was so worried about getting out of here alive he didn't tell me.${13,20}The main thing is, the military aborted the launch, so when you do find the rocket,${18,24}you'll have to get up to the control room and launch it yourself.${22,30}He said something about a Lambda team needing the satellite in orbit if they were ever going to clean up this mess.
BA_ASSN|Freeman, right? I've got a message for you. Make sure you don't- (gets shot and dies)
BA_TAU1A|What is this thing? Some kinda weapon?
BA_TAU3A|Man! Why aren't we using it?
BA_TAU5A|What do you mean, overcharge?
BA_ALIVE|{0,3}Hey, it's no good up there. It's all sealed off.${2,9}The only way out would be to find someone with scanner access who can open the front door.${6,12}I'm pretty sure there's a few scientists hiding somewhere in the labs.${10,16}Maybe with both of us looking, we can track them down and get them to let us out.
BA_LETMEOUT|Hey! Hey! Hey, lemme outta here! (Unused)
BA_RPG|This is your lucky day. There's rocket propelled grenade launcher in there.$Laser sight and everything.$Now, if you can figure a way in, you'll be an even match for these bastards. (Unused)
BA_HELPME|Help... Help me... Somebody please help me...$I'm dying out here... Please help me...
BA_SNIPED|I've been hit! Stay back! Sniper got me! (Unused)
BA_SURVEY2A|So this is the guy. We thought you'd never make it.
BA_SURVEY4A|Yeah, you'd better kill it.
BA_SURVEY6A|Enough to know that if you don't wipe it out, there won't be much for you to come home to.
BA_SURVEY8A|Don't forget to gear up. And I'll cover you while you're waiting for that portal to warm up.
BA_PORTSTAY|I'm gonna stay down here. If I see anything looks like it doesn't belong, I'll start shooting.
SC_OK0|With my brains and your brawn we'll make an excellent team.
SC_OK1|Glad to oblige a fellow scientist.
SC_OK2|Fine. You won't even know I'm here.
SC_OK3|I certainly hope you know what you're doing.
SC_OK4|Lead the way.
SC_OK5|Let's go.
SC_OK6|Yes, let's go.
SC_OK7|Yes.
SC_OK8|Alright.
SC_WAIT0|Have I been that much of a burden?
SC_WAIT1|I'm slowing you down, am I?
SC_WAIT2|I don't suppose you'd reconsider?
SC_WAIT3|Why are you leaving me here?
SC_WAIT4|I'll wait right here.
SC_WAIT5|I'll stay here.
SC_WAIT6|I'll wait.
SC_STOP0|This is as far as I go.
SC_STOP1|I refuse to go another step.
SC_STOP2|You're going to have to leave me here, Gordon.
SC_STOP3|I'm going to stay here and wait for my colleagues.
SC_STARE0|Yes.
SC_STARE1|Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
SC_STARE2|You have no idea what is going on, do you?
SC_HELLO0|Hello there.
SC_HELLO1|Freeman! Who would have thought you'd still be alive?
SC_HELLO2|A fellow scientist.
SC_HELLO3|Greetings.
SC_HELLO4|Hello.
SC_HELLO5|Ah, it's good to see you.
SC_HELLO6|Ah, you have one of the new HEV suits. That should be very useful.
SC_HELLO7|You are from the Anomalous Materials Lab. Yes, I recognize you.
SC_HELLO8|Ah, Freeman. I see you are in this mess too.
SC_ANSWER0|I am not at all sure.
SC_ANSWER1|I'm not certain.
SC_ANSWER2|Perhaps.
SC_ANSWER3|Who can say?
SC_ANSWER4|It's inconclusive.
SC_ANSWER5|Theoretically.
SC_ANSWER6|Why are you asking me?
SC_ANSWER7|Kindly lower your voice.
SC_ANSWER8|Of course!
SC_ANSWER9|Absolutely.
SC_ANSWER10|Yes.
SC_ANSWER11|I believe so.
SC_ANSWER12|Right!
SC_ANSWER13|I'm sure of it.
SC_ANSWER14|Positively.
SC_ANSWER15|I have no doubt.
SC_ANSWER16|Yes.
SC_ANSWER17|Of course not!
SC_ANSWER18|Absolutely not.
SC_ANSWER19|No.
SC_ANSWER20|I don't think so.
SC_ANSWER21|You are completely wrong.
SC_ANSWER22|You can't be serious.
SC_ANSWER23|I really don't know.
SC_ANSWER24|Don't be ridiculous!
SC_ANSWER25|Shut up.
SC_ANSWER26|I couldn't even venture a guess.
SC_ANSWER27|Stop asking that question.
SC_ANSWER28|Didn't you just ask me that?
SC_ANSWER29|You know, you repeat yourself sometimes.
SC_QUESTION1|I'd give my right hemisphere for a few hours of sleep.
SC_QUESTION2|Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
SC_QUESTION3|Will we ever make it out of here?
SC_QUESTION4|Are you sure this is the right way?
SC_QUESTION5|It can't get any worse than this.
SC_QUESTION6|Surely someone will come and rescue us.
SC_QUESTION7|Don't you find this all rather fascinating?
SC_QUESTION8|Well, i think it's rather stimulating, don't you?
SC_QUESTION9|It's highly probable that our luck will change, don't you agree?
SC_QUESTION10|Did you hear something?
SC_QUESTION11|Do you smell what I smell?
SC_QUESTION12|Fat lot of good that Ph.D. does me now, hm?
SC_QUESTION13|Don't you think we should wait here for a while?
SC_QUESTION14|Do you recall any of those emergency survival procedures?
SC_QUESTION15|These crab creatures have a unique parasitic strategy, don't you think?
SC_QUESTION16|I believe this will make for a notable paper, don't you?
SC_QUESTION17|Shouldn't we try to capture a specimen?
SC_QUESTION18|Are you seriously suggesting that all of these beings are here to dine on us?
SC_QUESTION19|Do you suspect some alien subterfuge behind this failure?
SC_QUESTION21|The military cleanup is just a paranoid rumor, isn't it?
SC_QUESTION22|The alien species can't possibly all be hostile, can they?
SC_QUESTION23|Did you understand that last announcement?
SC_QUESTION24|Do you smell something burning?
SC_QUESTION25|You have no idea what is going on, do you?
SC_QUESTION26|Well, do you have any idea what to do next?
SC_IDLE0|I predicted all of this, you know. All of it!
SC_IDLE1|It appears the containment system has completely failed.
SC_IDLE2|Do you still say there's nothing to chaos theory?
SC_IDLE3|How interesting, just look at that.
SC_IDLE4|Fascinating. I never suspected such things could be.
SC_IDLE5|Why just look at those peculiar markings.
SC_IDLE6|Who is responsible for this mess?
SC_IDLE7|Well, there goes our grant money.
SC_IDLE8|Wouldn't you like to get one of these blood samples under a microscope?
SC_IDLE9|I suspected this could happen but the Administrator just would not listen.
SC_IDLE10|A failure of this magnitude is extremely improbable.
SC_IDLE11|Well, the dimensional breach is definitely transmitting organic matter.
SC_IDLE12|I hope those people in the Lambda Lab can get this under control.
SC_IDLE13|I hear something.
SC_NOGO|No, don't go that way!
SC_MONST1|Another important species revealed in action.
SC_HEAR0|I hear something.
SC_HEAR1|Did you hear that?
SC_HEAR2|That sound... what is it?
SC_SMELL0|I believe something smells quite foul here.
SC_SMELL1|I hope that odor isn't coming from you.
SC_SMELL2|Hm, what a peculiar odor.
SC_SMELL3|What is that stench?
SC_WOUND0|I seem to be wounded...but I can keep going.
SC_WOUND1|Well, I seem to be seriously wounded.
SC_MORTAL0|I don't think I can last much longer.
SC_MORTAL1|Well, I seem to be seriously wounded.
SC_CUREA|You look terrible.
SC_CUREB|Ah, you've been wounded.
SC_CUREC|It appears that you need medical attention right away.
SC_HEAL0|Let me take care of that wound for you.
SC_HEAL1|This should make you feel better.
SC_HEAL5|Allow me to treat that injury.
SC_HEAL6|I can give you something for the pain.
SC_HEAL7|Don't worry, I am a doctor.
SC_PLFEAR0|My God, what are you doing?
SC_PLFEAR1|I can't take much more of this.
SC_PLFEAR2|This is madness! I'm getting out of here!
SC_PLFEAR3|No! Please!
SC_PLFEAR4|I've got to get out of here!
SC_PLFEAR5|Sorry, I'm leaving now.
SC_FEAR0|No!
SC_FEAR1|Startled
SC_FEAR2|Startled
SC_FEAR3|No, I don't want to die!
SC_FEAR4|I just want to get out of this alive.
SC_FEAR5|Startled
SC_FEAR6|Startled
SC_FEAR7|Oh no.
SC_FEAR8|Oh no.
SC_FEAR9|Oh no.
SC_FEAR10|Oh no.
SC_FEAR11|Oh no.
SC_FEAR12|Startled
SC_SCREAM0|Fear
SC_SCREAM1|Fear
SC_SCREAM2|Fear
SC_SCREAM3|Fear
SC_SCREAM4|Fear
SC_SCREAM5|Oh no!
SC_SCREAM6|Oh dear!
SC_SCREAM7|Fear
SC_SCREAM8|Fear
SC_SCREAM9|Fear
SC_SCREAM10|Oh my!
SC_SCREAM11|My goodness!
SC_SCREAM12|No!
SC_SCREAM13|Get back!
SC_SCREAM14|Fear
SC_SCARED0|My God, what are you doing?
SC_SCARED1|Stop attacking, he's a friend!
SC_SCARED2|Are you insane? Stop attacking, immediately!
SC_PHELLO0|Ah, hello, Gordon Freeman. It's good to see you.
SC_PHELLO1|Greetings.
SC_PHELLO2|Ah, it's good to see you.
SC_PHELLO3|Greetings!
SC_PHELLO4|Hello.
SC_PHELLO5|Hello there.
SC_PHELLO6|Freeman.
SC_PQUEST0|Have you been able to get the beverage machine to work yet?
SC_PQUEST1|Did you submit your status report to the Administrator today?
SC_PQUEST2|Are you running those tunneling lattice calculations again?
SC_PQUEST3|This should shake up those grand unification boys, hm?
SC_PQUEST4|Are you one hundred percent sure that theory of yours is correct?
SC_PQUEST5|I am rather looking forward to this analysis, aren't you?
SC_PQUEST6|Wouldn't it be fantastic to get some pure readings for a change?
SC_PQUEST7|Any ideas on the origin of that new sample?
SC_PQUEST8|This analysis is going to run perfectly today, don't you think?
SC_PQUEST9|Aren't you a bit worried about that exponential cascade scenario we discussed?
SC_PQUEST10|Do you think we should delay for another recalibration?
SC_PQUEST11|You aren't going soft on that ethics issue again, are you?
SC_PQUEST12|All displacement modulators were tuned today, weren't they?
SC_PQUEST13|Do you know who ate all the donuts?
SC_PQUEST14|Have you seen my coffee cup?
SC_PQUEST15|Is anyone else getting hungry?
SC_PQUEST16|Don't you think we should recalculate those resonance dampening factors again?
SC_PQUEST17|Are you sure you checked the Eigen attenuators?
SC_PIDLE0|Someone has hidden my glasses again.
SC_PIDLE1|Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?
SC_PIDLE2|I wonder if I should run that test again.
SC_PIDLE3|This is all within theoretical limits.
SC_PIDLE4|As I expected.
SC_PIDLE5|That's odd.
SC_PIDLE6|Yes, this all looks nominal.
SC_PIDLE7|Now where did I leave that shutdown procedure chart?
SC_PIDLE8|I must remember to report that fluctuation.
SC_PIDLE9|Most of the simulation results are perfectly acceptable, you know.
SC_PIDLE10|I hope those containment parameters are still nominal.
SC_POK0|Please, leave me alone until after the experiment.
SC_POK1|I can't be bothered right now.
SC_POK2|Excuse me, Gordon, but I'm rather busy now.
SC_POK3|You'll just have to wait until after the test.
SC_POK4|Weren't you supposed to be in the test chamber half an hour ago?
SC_1MUMBLE|[muffled] ("I've told you a hundred times,$I am opposed to pushing this equipment beyond the test level.")[a]
SC_DISA|Testing...testing... Everything seems to be in order.
SC_DIS1A|{0,4}All right, Gordon, your suit should keep you comfortable through all this.${3,7}The specimen will be delivered to you in a few moments.${6,12}If you would be so good as to climb up and start the rotors,${10,19}we can bring the Anti-Mass Spectrometer to eighty percent and hold it there until the carrier arrives.
SC_DIS1B|Gordon, are you not hearing me? Climb up and start the rotors, please.
SC_DIS1C|Climb up and start the rotors.
SC_DIS1D|Very good. We'll take it from here.
SC_DIS2A|Power to stage one emitters in three...two...one...
SC_DIS3A|I'm seeing predictable phase arrays.
SC_DIS5A|Stage two emitters activating...now.
SC_DIS6A|{0,5}I have just been informed that the sample is ready, Gordon.${3,7}It should be coming up to you any moment now.${5,11}Look to the delivery system for your specimen.
SC_DIS7A|Standard insertion for a nonstandard specimen.$Go ahead, Gordon. Slot the carrier into the analysis port.
SC_DIS9A|Overhead capacitors to one oh five percent.
SC_DIS10A|Gordon, we cannot predict how long the system can operate at this level, nor how long the reading will take.$Please work as quickly as you can.
SC_DIS11A|{0,4}Uh...it's probably not a problem...probably...but${2,8}I'm showing a small discrepancy in...well,${6,11}no, it's well within acceptable bounds again. Sustaining sequence.
SC_DIS12A|Nothing you need to worry about, Gordon. Go ahead.
SC_DIS13A|Wha-what's he doing in there?
SC_DIS14A|Get him out of there!$Shut down the equipment and someone get him out!
SC_DIS15A|Shutting down. Attempting shut down.$It's not...it's-it's not...it's not shutting down...it's not...
SC_DIS16A|Gordon! Get away from the beams!
SC_GETAWAY|Get away from there, Freeman!$I'm expecting an important message!
SC_GMORN|Good morning, Gordon.
SC_BIGDAY|Big day today, Freeman.
SC_SAMPLE|The sample was just delivered to the test chamber.
SC_LOCK1A|I'm afraid we'll be deviating a bit$from standard analysis procedures today, Gordon.
SC_LOCK2A|Yes, but with good reason. This is a rare opportunity for us.$This is the purest sample we've seen yet.
SC_LOCK3A|And potentially the most unstable!
SC_LOCK4A|Now, now, if you follow standard insertion procedures, everything will be fine.
SC_LOCK5A|{0,3}I don't know how you can say that.${1,8}Although I will admit that the possibility of a resonance cascade scenario is extremely unlikely,${6,11}I remain uncomfortable with the...
SC_LOCK6A|{0,5}Gordon doesn't need to hear all this. He's a highly trained professional.${3,9}We have assured the Administrator that nothing will go wrong.
SC_LOCK7A|Ah yes, you're right.$Gordon, we have complete confidence in you.
SC_LOCK8A|Well, go ahead. Let's let him in now.
SC_CRIT1A|Quick! It's about to go critical!
SC_CRIT2A|What the hell is going on with our equipment? (Eli Vance)
SC_CRIT3A|It wasn't meant to do this in the first place!
SC_CTRL1A|Ah, Gordon, here you are.$We just sent the sample down to the Test Chamber.
SC_CTRL2A|We've boosted the Anti-Mass Spectrometer to 105 percent.$Bit of a gamble, but we need the extra resolution.
SC_CTRL3A|The Administrator is very concerned that we get a conclusive analysis of today's sample.$I gather they went to some lengths to get it.
SC_CTRL4A|They're waiting for you, Gordon. In the Test Chamber.
SC_CONSOLE1A|Why didn't they listen!
SC_CONSOLE2A|We tried to warn them. (Eli Vance)
SC_CONSOLE3A|I never thought I'd see a Resonance Cascade, let alone create one.
SC_CONSOLE4A|{0,5}Gordon, you're alive! Thank God for that hazard suit.${3,8}I'm afraid to move him, and all our phones are out.${6,12}Please, get to the surface as soon as you can, and let someone know we're stranded down here.${10,15}You'll need me to activate the retinal scanners.${14,18}I'm sure the rest of the science team will gladly help you. (Eli Vance)
SC_CONSOLE5A|Be careful, Gordon. (Eli Vance again; Unused?)
SC_DANGLING|I...I can't hold on much...longer...
SC_DARKROOM|I'm not so sure I want to get to the surface.$What if the world finds out what we were doing down here?
SC_LOUNGE|{0,4}Gordon! If I'd known it was you, I'd have let you in!${2,8}Everyone's heading for the surface, but I think they're crazy not to stay put.${6,12}Someone is bound to come by and rescue us.
SC_TRANSMISSION|{0,4}I just overheard a secure access transmission...soldiers${3,6}have arrived and they're coming to rescue us.${4,9}Of course, I have my doubts that we'll live long enough to greet them.
SC_1MAN|Take me with you! I'm the one man who knows everything!
SC_RESCUED|Rescued at last! Thank God you're here!
SC_SILO1A|For God's sake, open the silo door! They're coming for us;$it's our only way out!
SC_SILO2A|Oh my God...we're doomed!
SC_TEAM|Don't shoot! I'm with the science team!
SC_ROCKET|Fire the...rocket engine.$Destroy the damned thing before it grows any larger!
SC_POWEROFF|I hope no one expects me to start up the generator.$Smithers went down there and never came back.
SC_POWERON|Excellent! Someone has restored all power!$We'll have the engine up again in no time!
SC_GENER|This is my hiding spot, and I'm not moving until the situation is drastically improved.$Now go away and don't tell anyone I'm here.
SC_TRUST|{0,6}Well, so much for the government. Their idea of containment is to kill everyone associated with the project!${4,11}Judging from your hazard suit, I'd say you were part of what went wrong—isn't that right?${9,16}Now look...if anyone can end this catastrophe, it's the science team in the Lambda Complex,${14,20}at the opposite end of the base. With the transit system out, I couldn't tell you how to get there.${18,25}But there's an old decommissioned rail system somewhere through here—beyond the silo complex.${23,29}If you can make it through the rocket test labs, you might be able to worm your way through${27,33}the old tunnels to track down whatever's left of the Lambda team.${31,37}You can trust them. You can trust all of us. Good luck.
SC_TENT|No...No! No! Get it off me! Get it off! Get it off!
SC_ICKY|{0,5}Did you see it? They said it was hauled from the Challenger Deep,${3,10}but I'm positive that beast never swam in terrestrial waters until a week ago.${8,13}There's a tranquilizer gun in the shark cage,${11,19}but I'm not sure it would work on this species. You're welcome to try.
SC_TRACK|{0,3}Gordon Freeman—it is you, isn't it?${1,7}The science team has been tracking your progress with the Black Mesa security system.${5,12}Unfortunately, so has the military. That suit of yours is full of tracking devices.${10,18}Still, it's better than going naked in this place. It's cold in there and you'll have to hurry.${16,20}It could sap your suit power in a matter of moments.${18,25}If you're bent on reaching the Lambda complex, then you'll want to keep to the older industrial areas,${23,30}where the security system is full of holes. It's worked for me so far.
SC_TAU2A|Put that down—it's a prototype.
SC_TAU4A|It's much too unpredictable.$Don't let it overcharge!
SC_1PSURG|We all have retinal scanner access.$Escort us to the lobby, and we can get out of the lab.
SC_2PSURG|You'll have to shut down the surgical unit first.$Peters switched it on but I'm afraid he never made it back.
SC_3PSURG|A scientist, thank God!$Get us out of here before those military drones figure out where we're hiding!
SC_LETOUT|{0,4}Well, I'll let you out, but I'm warning you...it's hell out there.${2,6}It's completely under military control.${4,8}You'll have to sneak and fight your way from one end to the other,${7,12}and I don't expect you'll meet many of our peers along the way.${10,18}But if you do survive and somehow make it across the base, you'll end up at the Lambda Complex,${16,21}where the rest of the science team has taken shelter. I wouldn't venture there myself,${19,24} but I will let them know that you are coming.
SC_BOOBIE|{0,3}You're heading for the Lambda Complex, aren't you?${1,5}I was heading there myself, until I wound up here and...well,${3,9}simply lost my nerve. Take one look through that door and you'll see what I mean.${7,13}I'm just going to wait out the catastrophe in here.${10,18}If you intend to go on, then I beg of you...proceed with extreme caution.
SC_STRAWS|{0,6}I apologize, Mr. Freeman, but I couldn't risk opening that door until I was sure you'd scoured the area.${3,13}This is the last entrance to the Lambda Complex—every other has been sealed off to contain the invasion.${10,17}When we realized that you might actually make it here,${13,18}we drew straws to see who should stay behind to let you through.${15,22}Obviously, I drew the short one. My colleagues are waiting at the tip of the Lambda reactor${20,28}...waiting for you, I mean. The reactor is shut down right now, but you can activate it on your way up.${26,31}You'll have to flood the core anyway to get into the teleportation labs.${29,34}You're not authorized to know about those...${32,38}but I can see you already know a great deal more than any one man is supposed to.
SC_GLUON2A|{0,4}Were you in weapons research, too? I built the Gluon Gun,${2,8}but I just can't bring myself to use it on a living creature.${6,11}You don't look as if you have any trouble killing things.
SC_FLOOD|Freeman, isn't it? You'll need to activate both pumps to flood the reactor,$and then that access pipe down there will take you to the core.$Time is short!
SC_LINGER|{0,4}Don't linger, Mr. Freeman! You've turned on the pumps.${2,9}Now take the access pipe, flood the core, and get on up to the labs without delay!
SC_SURVEY1A|Gordon Freeman! You finally found us!
SC_SURVEY3A|{0,3}This is the supply depot for our first survey team.${1,7}Quite a few handsome specimens were collected from the borderworld${5,13}and brought back this way—uhh, before the survey members started being collected themselves, that is.${11,17}We suspect there is an immense portal over there,${15,21}created by the intense concentration of a single powerful being.${19,23}You will know it when you see it.${21,27}I hate to say this, Gordon, but you must kill it, if you can.
SC_SURVEY5A|Of course, you owe us nothing, Mr. Freeman. But you've come this far.$You know as much about these creatures as anyone.
SC_SURVEY7A|Yes. So...if you're willing, my colleague is waiting for you at the main portal controls.$He will open the gates for you, Mr. Freeman. Do hurry.
SC_LJUMP|{0,3}This, Mr. Freeman, is a Long Jump Module,${1,7}created expressly for navigation in the world beyond.${5,13}I certainly hope you received Long-Jump Training, because once you're in Xen, you will need it.${11,15}I would advise you to practice before crossing over.
SC_UPHERE|Hello, Freeman—I'm up here.$Practice your Long-Jump if you must, but hurry up!
SC_PORTAL|All right, I can open the portal now.$The process is complicated, and once it's begun I must not be interrupted or I will have to start all over again.$Don't enter the beam until I give the okay, understood? I will begin.
SC_PORTOPEN|It's ready! You must go! Now!
SC_POSITION|We're almost there, Freeman. Get yourself in position.
SC_FOREVER|Hurry up, Freeman, I can't keep it open forever!
SC_NOTYET|Not yet, Freeman!
SC_FOOL|Freeman, you fool!
SC_LETYOUIN|Wait a minute and I'll let you in.

HOLO_INTRO|{0,8}Hello and welcome to the Black Mesa Hazard Course, where you'll be trained in the use of the Hazardous Environment Suit.${5,13}I am your holographic assistant. Let's begin by stepping into your suit.${10,15}You can see it suspended up ahead of you.
HOLO_BUTTON|If you see one of these buttons, press it, and I will appear to demonstrate certain moves.
HOLO_MOVE|{0,6}Moving around in your HEV Suit can be slightly disorienting at first.${3,12}Take a moment to familiarize yourself with basic movement, and soon it will fit you like a second skin.${10,15}I will see you just around the corner.
HOLO_JUMP|{0,5}The first move we will practice in the Hazard Course is basic jumping.${3,10}You will attempt to get over this set of pipes using only your run and jump commands.${8,17}It helps to get a running start. Watch me, and then try it yourself.
HOLO_DUCK|{0,3}You will now duck under the next set of obstacles.${2,10}Please note that crouching will automatically shift your suit into stealth mode, minimizing movement noise.
HOLO_JDUCK|{0,6}Now we will combine skills. You will need to jump, duck, and then jump again.${4,12}This will prepare you for the next room where you will have to do both moves at the same time.
HOLO_PIPEDUCK|{0,5}To get into these pipes, you'll have to signal your suit to make a duck jump.${3,14}You'll want to stand right at the mouth of the pipe and continue to press forward, then jump up, and while you're in mid air, go into a crouch. ${12,17}It's tricky, but you'll find it comes in handy.
HOLO_RETRY|Give it another try. Remember to move forward, jump, and while in mid air, crouch.
HOLO_NICEJOB|Nice job!
HOLO_LADDER|{0,8}Walk directly into the ladder, look up, and continue moving forward. If you want to come back down, just move backward.
HOLO_3JUMPS|{0,5}The next three jumps get harder each time, but they are quite possible. ${3,9}Don't be surprised if you miss the last one a time or two. ${7,13}If you can make all three in a continuous run, you are doing well.
HOLO_FALLSHORT|If you keep falling short, you might be jumping too soon.
HOLO_GREATWORK|Great work! Now there is one more style of jumping you need to learn.
HOLO_LONGJUMP|{0,4}Long jumping requires its own charging module, seen here.${2,10}To activate your long jump, you will have to duck and move forward and then launch into a jump.${8,17}Once you are up on the platform, press the button, and I will demonstrate the move.
HOLO_STARTLIFT|Please start the lift by moving up to the button, looking at it, and pressing the use key.
HOLO_JUMPDOWN|{0,4}Now that you're up here, there's only one way down.${2,7}Find the target on the floor below and do your best to hit it.${6,13} If you take any damage from the fall, we will administer medical care at the next station.
HOLO_MEDKIT|{0,5}You will find medkits like this one throughout the Black Mesa compound.${3,9}To restore your health, walk up to a medkit and press your use key.${7,14}Your health will recover gradually until you are at full health or the kit is depleted.${13,19}Once the light goes out, a medkit cannot be reused.
HOLO_SPINBRIDGE|{0,5}To spin that bridge, walk up to the control wheel and press the use key.
HOLO_FANTASTIC|{0,3}Fantastic!
HOLO_JUMPGAP|Sometimes you'll need to rely on more than just your suit to get through a tight place. Try jumping this gap on your own.
HOLO_PUSHBOX|{0,6}What you really need to do is push that box down into the pit. Pushing is easy.${4,10}Just move forward against the box and you can push it into position.
