Ah, a visitor! Greetings. I'm the queen of this island, but you may call me Gale.

You've probably met my former friends already. We didn't see eye to eye on a few matters, so I ended up leaving on my own, and I don't miss them one bit!

...alright, maybe a little bit. The pigs aren't exactly good company. They lack standards as much as they lack intelligence. The one good thing about them is that they follow all my commands to a T thanks to this crown I wear.

Currently, my main goal is to venture all around Golden Island, plundering whatever valuable things I can find from its ancient corners. So far, I have collected magical pollen from a golden flower, and what is possibly the world's largest pearl. My adventures would've led me deep into a cave of crystals, but I have now set my sights upon a so-called "Golden Egg", hidden deep within the island's ruins.

If you'll excuse me, I have an ancient book to study. Do feel free to explore this grand palace of mine, though you are only allowed to roam this floor. The rest of my castle is off limits to strangers like you.

MY MUSINGS

It's pretty clear that the writers were the most ambitious with Gale. Unfortunately, she's also the character they fumbled the most with.

Despite constantly alienating herself from her former friends to achieve her goals as the queen of the pigs, she still desires to reunite with them again; but doing so would require her to throw away quite literally everything she has: her title, her army, and all the time and effort she sank into her quest, all for a group that may not forgive her for, well, all the alienating she did trying to achieve her goals. It's a pretty basic internal conflict, and yet the writers are afraid to do more than lip service to it!

Gale is only ever allowed to show off her evil side, with only the slightest hint of her other side when the writers remember she's supposed to be interesting. Gale rarely even shows any sign of longing or regret for more than a few seconds, and every time she threathens to have even the slightest bit of character development, they immediately spam Ctrl + Z before the episode ends. In fact, the only time she gets to have any change in character is during the endgame of season 2 where her good side is completely tossed away and she becomes a simple, pure evil villain. While Pure Evil Gale is awesome during those final few episodes, it still adds to my point: despite all the marketing, the writers are afraid to make her more than just "the character that does bad things".

How the writers treated Gale is undoubtably the biggest shame with Angry Birds Stella; she could've easily been the best part of this sub-series as a whole!
