The Golden Queen

Haunted by nightmares of the Golden Egg slipping from her grasp, Gale returns to Golden Island's volcano to locate the precious artifact. Surely she can't outsmart the monsters guarding the oblong orb. Can she?

In this episode, Gale finally gets her hands on the Golden Egg for good! Pretty big deal right here, that's like the thing she's been trying to do this entire series! Unfortunately, the episode's a little too boring.

We at least get to see a little more of the Gale-Luca dynamic, but that's pretty much all the episode has to offer. All six minutes of this episode is basically just Gale getting to the cave, then leaving with the Golden Egg, and not much else. (Aside from Gale titties.) Very lackluster compared to, say, an average season 1 episode, where a lot more mileage is taken in the same 6 minute timeframe. I feel like this episode could've done more things during its runtime. Perhaps it could expand on said Gale-Luca dynamic instead of just having Luca be an excuse to lead Gale directly to the plot, and be pushed aside the moment she reaches the cave.

My other complaint is the lack of a build up to an event as big as this. Sadly, this is quite understandable: with Angry Birds Stella getting discontinued in the middle of this season, these last 5 episodes are all we have left, so let's just hand Gale the Golden Egg now so we can use the rest of the 4 episodes for endgame stuff. A little unfortunate, but there's not much that can be done here save for inventing a universe where Rovio isn't fucking around.

Quite disappointing how boring "Gale gets the Golden Egg" turned out to be, but at least it's forwarding the plot, and what comes next is spectacular!
