So, The Book is obviously all about the Golden Egg; some guide on its powers and where it's hiding, right? So why is there suddenly a section about overthrowing monarchs?
Here's my headcanon:
The Book isn't some guide on the Golden Egg, written by one monarch for another. It is instead some sort of archive, detailing the previous monarch's quest for the Golden Egg, the things they built in an attempt to keep the Golden Egg, and their downfall caused by said Egg, culminating in what the book showcases this episode: a dethroning disguised as a celebration. Ultimately, it is a cautionary tale written by one of the unfortunate commonfolk under this previous monarch, warning the future of the dangers of this Golden Egg.
Unfortunately for this writer, Gale's skipping through the book with the intention of finding blueprints for the Torment Nexus. And even then, Gale and her underlings are shown to have atrocious attention spans and cannot read more than like two pages per sitting, as seen in "The Golden Egg", and this very episode.
...but again, that's just my headcanon. It's all just me making shit up for my own enjoyment.
The episode itself is pretty eh. It's basically just "Piggy Love" again except lamer. Even with the attempted public execution.
