It's Mine!

The obsession over the precious golden egg is spreading and now Dahlia now finds herself under its spell. Can she crack the egg's myseries with science - or will she be consumed by its power?

Dahlia may have left the Golden Egg that night, but the Golden Egg hasn't left her.

The Golden Egg appears to have the ability to corrupt people. For whatever reason, the effects it has on Dahlia are quite extreme. Gale's definitely a little kooky after a few good looks at the Golden Egg, and it'd have more of an effect on her later on, but that's nothing compared to Dahlia's condition! One accidental glance and she's covering the walls of her home in cryptic scribbles!

When Dahlia attempts to destroy the egg with a hammer, eagle-eyed viewers may be able to notice something happening in the foreground when the hammer turns gold, foreshadowing what's to come...

...then the episode immediately unsubtly shows various things outside Dahlia's home turning to stone for the non eagle-eyed viewers. Whatever, it's still foreshadowing. If I'm using that term correctly.

As discussed in the Leitmotifs page (or will be discussed, if you're checking this page out first), the usage of Dahlia's and the Golden Egg's respective leitmotifs here are quite awesome! Can't really say anything that hasn't already been said on said Leitmotifs page, so go check that out if you haven't already!

Interesting that the Golden Egg beckons people to come take it, but Golden Island is determined to keep it out of people's hands. From carnivorous plants to hostile butterflies that will simply grab the Egg and run, and now a giant monster that seems to know Its location at all times.
