Poppy is on a prank rampage leaving Stella and the flock on edge. To get even, the flock devises the ultimate prank on Poppy, but can they truly outprank the prankmaster?
Now it's time for Poppy's episode! I mean, we already had a Poppy-centric episode back in episode 4 ("Rock On!"), but this one's extra Poppy-centric, featuring her main character trait! ...that never gets touched upon again for the rest of the show. But still!
As for things I like, Poppy getting ecstatic about being beaten at her own game at the end is some neat bit of characterization.
I also love this particular screenshot.
However, Poppy's antics this entire episode makes one question why the flock still keeps her around. They're all visibly sick of her for basically the entire episode.
Additionally, as I've said in the first paragraph, this prankster side of Poppy is never touched again for the rest of the series. She's still mischievious at times, sure, but she's not exactly the "queen of pranks" that all her official character bios make her out to be.
I'd say it'll be better for this series if Poppy's prankster antics were sprinkled in throughout the show instead of being concentrated in one episode and never mentioned again, as having Poppy showcase this central trait of hers consistently throughout the entire show makes it, well, a central trait, instead of what we got where it's only slightly better than an informed attribute.
However, there's really not much you can do with just six minutes per episode, and the show definitely struggles with this time limit, especially in the second season, so I get why they went with this decision instead. By cramming Poppy's pranks all in one episode, they can hammer in that this is Poppy's central trait, whilst not having to worry about spending precious runtime to make room for Poppy in every other episode. I'd say this is a win-win, but it's not exactly a proper solution; it doesn't solve the real problem which is the incredibly limited runtime, but it's still a solution, I guess.
