All That Glitters
Toons.TV description:
Gale and co. stumble upon a mysterious hole in the ground. When the pigs are too cowardly to investigate, Gale takes matters into her own hands. You can't rely on those pigs for anything!
Youtube description:
When the pigs refuse to go into a deep hole to find the Golden Egg, Gale takes the plunge herself, only to get stuck at the bottom. After several failed rescue attempts, the pigs need to approach Gale’s former friends to get help.
Where's Gale? In the hole.
First and foremost, let's talk about the ruins. This underground temple is the first bit of ruins we see in Angry Birds Stella, and it's pretty good. The entrance may look a little dull, simply being a hole, but the inside, filled with murals and a giant statue in the middle, plus the hallway of glowing mushrooms leading to it are pretty cool!
It's also the first appearance of the Skunk, this show's source of fart jokes, in case you forget that this is a kid's show.
It may be a coincidence, but this particular skunk creature likes to show up inside these ruins, suggesting some sort of connection.
Another thing of note is the scene of Stella paragliding:
In this episode, she's casually gliding over the forest, but two episodes later, in "Own The Sky", she's shown to be completely inept at paragliding.
One possible explanation for this inconsistency can be found in this Tumblr post by Laisanen.
Originally, "Own The Sky" has Stella start off experienced in parasailing, with the accident being the result of her cockiness; Stella being inexperienced was a change made later on. So Stella's hang-gliding skills were consistent in an earlier version, but after rewriting "Own The Sky", they either forgot or didn't bother to go back and rewrite this tiny little scene in "All That Glitters".
Lastly, in the final scene, Handsome Pig is shown to recognize Gale first, and notice her crown's absence second. This may or may not be foreshadowing to "Friends Whenever".
That's all I have to say. See you next episode!
