I'm so Bored with the USA

Hi there! After closing both my Master and Special series I took a break from seeding, enjoying life and most of all
preparing for a new series! This is not going to be as frequent as my previous ones, I'll be seeding shows from time
to time so don't expect massive volumes here.

Why a "vintage" series? Because music in the 70's and 80's was really something...so different, so special with "that" kind
of sound which you don't find anymore. That was the era of real music without the internet, of long tours and enjoyable live
shows spanning from metal to new wave, progressive, jazz, fusion, pop. So many bands were born and disappeared during those two decades.

I am then celebrating the 70's and the 80's and their unmistakeable sound in this LDB Vintage Series. You will find many bands. I have never seeded in the past but that I still enjoy listening to. Most of these come from low generation tapes that were traded around that period, many radio broadcasts and overall lots of surprises.

Excellent recording from the late Clash period, unfortunately incomplete. But what's available is definetely worth a listen. They
were indeed a different band from the one that first started in the mid-70's. Less wild but for sure more listenable. The audience
seemed to appreciate the gig. Joe Strummer is very talkative and at one point even asked the support of the audience to have a
few sentences translated into italian.

Some sources list this show as being recorded at the indoor Palasport, which is very unlikely since the recording sounds like
being recorded outdoor, and Joe mentions about bookstores in the venue which makes me thinking that the show took place at the
annual Festa de l'UnitÔøΩ in some open door ground, as it was the case for most of those festivals.

The Clash - Toronto Bus Interview April 1984

Joe Strummer interviewed by Lisa Robinson for WNYC?

This 2-part interview presents polar extremes of Joe Strummer. The first part most likely takes place in late 1983, after Mick Jones left the band but before the new Clash line-up started touring together. The majority of this segment involves Strummer heatedly discussing all the reasons Jones was fired. He then goes on to talk animatedly about the new incarnation of the band and how everyone in America is on drugs.

In the second part of the interview, recorded in the beginning of 1984, Strummer sounds melancholy and exhausted. However, with the departure of Mick Jones from The Clash being old news by this point, Lisa Robinson is able to steer the questioning towards what Strummer makes of performing, success, and his music.
