Probably the best soundcheck circulating, a full 40 minutes, quite clear with good sound but some slight over amplification. It is superior to the gig recording though. Theres lots of jamming, false starts, practice segments during the unbroken recording.
The gig itself has a very good sound, probably the best of the US tour with the exception of the 4 EP's from the last few dates. It is very clear but a bit distant.

"The opening act was a local reggae band called "Irie." They were fair at best. Most of the rest I remember is common to the other shows of the period - video screens showing Prince Charles patting the heads of starving African children, nuclear explosions, and Police beating people."
"Like the other reports of the period Joe was absolutely WIRED onstage; hurling the (in)famous black telecaster off stage for songs where he didn't play. Without the guitar to bash on, he would put the mic stand over his shoulder and the rest of the band would need to hang near the drum riser or get hit as he ran from side to side of the stage."
"I was 12 or 13 years old at the time and this was my first ever concert. Basically, the lights went down, Kosmo gave his "Hip Hoppers, Pill Poppers..." intro and they screamed into London Calling. My ears popped and I felt the drums deep in my chest and I just knew this had to be the most powerful band ever..."

The Clash - Toronto Bus Interview April 1984
Joe Strummer interviewed by Lisa Robinson for WNYC?
This 2-part interview presents polar extremes of Joe Strummer. The first part most likely takes place in late 1983, after Mick Jones left the band but before the new Clash line-up started touring together. The majority of this segment involves Strummer heatedly discussing all the reasons Jones was fired. He then goes on to talk animatedly about the new incarnation of the band and how everyone in America is on drugs.
In the second part of the interview, recorded in the beginning of 1984, Strummer sounds melancholy and exhausted. However, with the departure of Mick Jones from The Clash being old news by this point, Lisa Robinson is able to steer the questioning towards what Strummer makes of performing, success, and his music.
