Quite a decent sound on this one. This copy came direct from the originally circulated tape. It has some noise and slight distortion. But a good all round audience sound to it as well that makes for enjoyable listening.

The review does not come from a magazine called "kopia". It's a xerox ("copy") from a newspaper.
The band was interviewed for the only rock programme on the country's only TV station; I remember Joe Strummer saying that he'd watched MTV, but he hadn't heard the great song that made him run to the record store: "Oh I gotta get this one". They refused to be filmed for the broadcast, so a live clip of "Should I stay or should I go" (featuring Mick Jones, a point that was not lost on the veejay) was broadcast instead.

The new Clash sounds great. Joe Strummer did the right thing when he kicked Mick Jones out of the band. The new Clash are better than ever, they are heavier, has more speed and more passion. The european tour started of to a crowd of 5000 chair throwing Norwiegans(!) but the wildest of them all was Joe Strummer who at the last song throw himself from an amplifier with blood and a bump on the head as a result. Then the reviewer goes on with more info that the new Clash are better than ever with the new guys in the band. Only Paul Simonons harmonica version of Guns of Brixton getÌs the thumbs down. The new songs are difficult to judge after just one listen but the reviewer thinks the new songs are going back to old fashion rock ÌnÌ roll. Joe gets the last word in the review
The Clash getsÌs better with each gig, we just has to give it all on stage. Stockholm 84 Same revier as STO 81 show startÌs of with some words from Joe about the new Clash Ò We will be as punkier as ever. And the Clash keeps their promise, last night the Clash played with so much heat, energy and passion that it was ages a show like this was played in an arena this big. The reviewer expectations of the gig was not high as the last time Clash played Stockholm (1981) they were careless, played long raggae improvisations and had a really bad sound.
The new guys gets the credit for the vitamin injection the new Clash has. Not many bands can get an audience this big feel like they are on a more intimate venue but The Clash showed that they can along with Springsteen, Bowie and the heavy metal bands. The new songs gets thumbs up but not everything was perfect at the show, the sound was bad from time to time but overall The Clash showed that they have the energy and feeling for a rock ÌnÌ roll show when itÌs at the best! Here's a photosession Schlager did when the Clash played Stockholm Feb 1984 Photos of security, roadies, managers, fans etc but not the record label as the Clash told to them to f*** off!
I discovered some photos which I took when The Clash (MKII) played at Drammenshallen in February 1984.
Unfortunately the quality is fairly poor because I did use a disposal camera. I was standing as far as approximately the 10th row from the stage, so the band seems very distant.
There are total 9 pictures all in jpeg format. I only attach one picture in this e-mail so that you can judge the quality.
The background for the pictures is that me and 3 other friends travelled on a one day trip from my hometown Trondheim to Drammen to see the show.
I was already a huge Clash fan from early on, I discovered them just after their debut album was released. The Clash were going to play in my hometown Trondheim on (as I recall) Sunday the 4th May 1980. It was the biggest disappointment in my life when the gig was cancelled due to Toppers injury.
I can’t say that I remember much details about the gig in Drammenshallen, but it was (in my opinion) a great live show full of energy and power. The band seemed very tight. Even though for me it wasn’t The Clash. I do remember that Joe did climb on the amps and fell over. He was lying on the floor for so long that we’d thought he was seriously injured and that the rest of gig was due to be cancelled.
I did keep the full set list for a long time, but it was (typically) lost after some years. Though I know that the show contained more songs that the bootleg lists, and I’m 100 percent sure that they’d play Koka Kola.

Oslo: When the punk wave rocked rock England in its foundations, there were two particular names that graced the headlines: Sex Pistols and The Clash. Sex Pistols accounted for most of the scandals and were quickly burnt out. The Clash, on the other hand, went from victory to victory.

Joe Strummer interviewed by Lisa Robinson for WNYC?
This 2-part interview presents polar extremes of Joe Strummer. The first part most likely takes place in late 1983, after Mick Jones left the band but before the new Clash line-up started touring together. The majority of this segment involves Strummer heatedly discussing all the reasons Jones was fired. He then goes on to talk animatedly about the new incarnation of the band and how everyone in America is on drugs.
In the second part of the interview, recorded in the beginning of 1984, Strummer sounds melancholy and exhausted. However, with the departure of Mick Jones from The Clash being old news by this point, Lisa Robinson is able to steer the questioning towards what Strummer makes of performing, success, and his music.
