Apparently Vic Godard (not Goddard as stated on the poster) + Subway Sect never played that night and were replaced by a Belgian/Flemish band that played before the Belle Stars (and not The Bell Stars as stated on the poster). I have a friend of mine (his name is Ivan but I'm still guessing if he met GI Joe) who seems to have better memory than me (actually he smoked less pot than me :-) ) and I'll verify these info with him and keep you posted.
What I surely remember is that the Belle Stars were booed by some people and The Clash, pissed off by that, went down in the mush pit, fronting the crowed, and the booing stopped.
And, is this a surprise, the Clash sound was awful, which was often the case at FN despite several transformation up until recently. The energy was there though, for sure.
I've verified the info below and it's true Vic Goddard never played and was replaced by The Parking Meters, a† Flemish powerpop band. They played before the Belle Stars.
Did you go? What do you remember?
