Audio 1 -
Sound 1.5 - 61min - unknown generation - 16 tracks
Missing; London's Burning & White Riot

Garageland (version 1)

Audio 2 - master? -
sound 1.5 (some clipping) - 66min - 18 trks

Garageland (version 2)

Auido 1 was the only recording in circulation and was a poor one.

The *upgrade* is not much better and suffers clipping.

The old tape had a swirling distorted sound, lacking clarity and suffers some slight tape speed problems. It has a reasonable range of sound, if heavily distorted. The vocals can barely be made out which is a shame as both Joe and Mick make a number of comments between songs. The lead and drums just about come through OK. It suffers from over copying and an upgrade to this would be great.

Complete Control cuts off towards the end, so it’s not the full set, losing probably London’s Burning and White Riot, otherwise it’s the usual Sort It Out set list.

The extensive Sort It Out tour reached parts of the UK no earlier or subsequent tours would reach; here playing in the Cambridgeshire countryside at the little known Wirrina Stadium, Peterborough. However this was no stadium gig like those supporting the Who in 82 but an indoor part of the small scale venue which survived until 98!

Joe remarks that the fact that there was no licenced bar meant that the youngest Clash fans could get in and see them, little comfort for those wanting a drink!

Did you go? What do you remember?
